Of professions of old
thou art my archetype
now donned on a wall clock
though you know that time is irrelevant
studying many crafts
as my predecessors have – by moon and candle light
Upon a wall, in a frame, or in my soul
You were the first mortal that I loved
for you made a science
out of the practices which have long been forgotten
Ancient superstitions from the fires in the heavens
to the balefires on Earth
cloaked in the mysteries that we have yet to become.
