Reflections of the Shades

End the limitless nonsense

I do declare

Our time is now but not to stow away

for hours of bliss

But to smile and capture what little bit we can

through the gazes we stare down

Finding it a more grievous error to claim love eternal

When it can never be enjoyed for eternity

And in separations

heartfelt spurts on the wave

an occasional dip into and out of something tangible

But last night my eyes fell upon a shadow

whose deep gaze showed me how to rest my eyes

to wipe away teary-eyed concerns

and cease my mourning

For we all may weep and dream

but death comes swiftly

and on unspoken wings for whom no bell tolls.
