An Ode to Absu

A single rhythm draws me inward

into my soul

remembering when these loose constructs

were but the hopes of another generation

before they came into being

the cosmos housed you and I

A thousand memories in the blink of an eye

between courtship and chaos

to behold the pregnant darkness

And through vile sacrifice

shame for a progeny without sense to understand

how difficult it was to grant their survival

Great pains we endured

and in one instant – they devoured you whole.
